Chertsey Cricket Club are Proudly Sponsored by
World Cargo Logistics
With the season hurtling towards us quicker than a racehorse that doesn't have my money on *rips up betting slips*, we have a quartet of epic events for you to get your pre-season out the blocks this edition.
First up this Sunday sees us continue our much-anticipated foray in the regional round of the indoor competition - and we have learnt our opposition for the quarter final: Ickenham are the chosen after their two-wicket victory over Purley the Sunday before last. Our mission: to beat Ickenham, to win the semi final and we will earn our place at Lords. Absolutely every faith in you chaps, Chertsey clearly have cup form at the moment (hello neighbours!)... so bring it home...
The quarter and semi finals will be held at Kent CC this coming Sunday, and for those wanting to come and support the team our quarter final match begins at 2pm - here is the address:
Kent CC, Worsley Bridge Road, Beckenham, Kent, BR3 1DR (seek out the indoor facility)
EGM Incoming...
#2 on our list: Next Monday 21st, we will be holding the Extraordinary General Meeting, as promised at the AGM. The format of the EGM is to quickly tie up any loose ends from the AGM back in December - we have some fresh new captains to vote in, and accounts to ratify…
100 Year Celebration Celebrations Are Upon Us - Pass us a SideCarli...
That Friday (25th) sees the first event in our 100 Years at Grove Road celebrations calendar - the kick off party.
We hear there are some special events lined up on the evening to get things started in style - and we will be honouring the exploits of the Chertsey indoor team too.
Plus if you want to dress up in 20s garb the more the merrier... Consorting with the incredibly important ensemble (in these situations) that is the bar, we have some interestingly-monikered, prohibition-inspired beverages on offer for your delectation - the Gin Ricky (Redmond), or a SideCarli should get you lubricated and in the swing of things, sounds heavenly whatever's in it. The bar opens at 6pm, and festivities commence at 7.30pm.
We've still got sponsorship packages a-plenty available too (tents for the Lords Taverners game are selling like hotcakes and we've got two spaces left for the CPL team sponsors) so check them out here to get in on the game.

Big Welcome to Overseas Player Eric Osner...
We are very pleased to announce we have secured the services of an overseas player for the 2022 season – welcome South African Eric Osner.. Eric is an all-rounder middle order batsman with a spin bowling action and comes to us as an experienced traveller of recreational clubs so should fit right in.
We need your help though – Eric needs accommodation from mid-April til mid-September.
If you are local to Chertsey and can provide board for this period of time, please get in touch with us at comms@chertseycc.org.uk - there will be a nice reimbursement fee to provide his lodging so enquire within if you can help.
Well we've taken up enough of your precious time already, so its all the best to the indoor team, and thanks in advance for your participation over the next few weeks, it'll be good to see you all. Hopefully we’ll be in the black.
