First some history - the Bluebelles were set up in 2014 by the club as an opportunity to give the ladies of Chertsey Cricket Club a platform to learn and play cricket along with improving their fitness. Made up of mums, daughters and partners, the squad soon grew along with their ambition.
After a year’s hiatus, in 2016 the ladies reformed with gusto, the squad gaining enthusiastic new members, slowly learning their craft during training sessions on Wednesday nights. In 2019 they joined their first competitive league, the Surrey Slam, and rebranded to the Chertsey Ladies.
We are always taking on new players, so if you would like to join The Chertsey Ladies you must firstly be a Chertsey Cricket Club member, and there is no pre-requisite on experience, age or ability. Training sessions are held every Wednesday evening at the club (weather permitting),from 6pm – 7.45pm.
2019 also saw the birth of the Bluebirds, and in 2021 the Butterflies, the junior sections of the Chertsey Ladies.
In 2025 the Ladies team did the double, winning both the Surrey Slam Shield and the SWCL league Div 2.
Please contact us if you have a Colt interested in joining the squad.
